The County Attorney Traffic Safety (CATS) Program is an optional diversion program for traffic citations. It lets participants have their traffic citations dismissed without the citation showing up on their driving record or having points added to their driver’s license.
To complete the CATS Program, a participant must register, pay all fees associated, and complete a one-hour online course. After completing the course, the County Attorney’s office will dismiss the citation.
Some eligible offenses may include: Speeding, Disregarding a Stop Sign, Improper Passing, Careless Driving, etc.
You are not eligible if you already paid for your ticket, signed up for State Traffic School, have a Kentucky Commercial Drivers License (CDL), completed the program within the last year, or received a citation for Speeding 26+ over.
There is no need to do anything at this time. Your citation will be screened by the County Attorney's Office, and if you are eligible for the program, you will receive a letter or postcard in the mail automatically that will provide further instructions.
The program is administered by DriveSafe Kentucky.
